The
Duncan Center welcomes you to visit our Coal Museum, Art Gallery, and
History Museum. The exhibits are always evolving and changing so we
promise it will be an exciting visit.
The Coal Museum is a fast-growing collection at the Duncan Center and
online you will learn all about our rich heritage as the heart of the
Western Kentucky
Coal Field. You will find images from the early days of underground
mining and learn all about the largest earth moving equipment in the
world used in strip surface mining in Muhlenberg County..
Our Art Museum is always changing as we feature artists from all over
and their works for you to enjoy. You will see the many talents found
around Muhlenberg
County as well. Online you will see samples of the works that are presently
on display or have been previously at the Duncan Center. You can get
involved with the Duncan Center Art Museum by taking part in our Resident
Artist Program. The painting to the right is of the Ernest Bullock family
from Bremen, Kentucky, painted by Judge Brian Wiggins.
With so much rich history in Muhlenberg County, the Duncan Center hosts
a tremendous local heritage collection plus items from throughout Kentucky.
Be sure to visit our Felix Martin room and also checkout the Warren
Oates collection while at the Duncan Center. Online we promote our proud
history through stories, images, and videos. Whether you are a native
of our area, a new resident, or just interested in Muhlenberg County,
you will find something of interest at the Duncan Center and on the
Duncan Center website.
The Duncan Center invites you to get involved. Call Shara or Peggy to
find out how you can help.
